UB Homeopathy Roundup 2018

here, as I've done from time to time, I search bridgeport.edu and cite some of their unethical homeopathy proponentry [science subset homeopathy; efficacy subset homeopathy]:

001. there's "UBCNM Advanced Topics in Homeopathy" [2018 archived] which states:

"When: March 6, 2018 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Where: Health Sciences Building, Room 808 Warner Hall 60 Lafayette St, Bridgeport, CT 06604 USA.  Contact: Stephanie Draus, ND. 203.576.4582. Email Campus Conferences & Workshops Health Sciences Lectures, Speakers & Presentations. University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine presents: Advanced Topics in Homeopathy with Dr. Flo McPherson [ND]. March 6, 2018: Homeopathic Bowel Nosodes. March 20, 2018: 12 Tissue Salts of Schuessler. March 27, 2018: Miasmatic Theory of Chronic Disease. April 3, 2018: Posology. Register for the full workshop or for individual modules. CE approval pending for CT Naturopathic Physicians. 8 CEUs for the full workshop, or 2 CEUs for each module";

of course, homeopathy is absurd though UB naturopathy claims it belongs within "science."

002. there's "Naturopathic Medicine Clinic" [2018 archived] which states:

"Home | Academics | Health Sciences Programs | UB Clinics [...] UB’s health sciences programs include in the Fones School of Dental Hygiene, the College of Chiropractic, the College of Naturopathic Medicine, the Acupuncture Institute, Physician Assistant Institute and the Nutrition Institute [...] the Naturopathic Medicine Clinic offers specialty clinical shifts in classic homeopathy";

again, that science subset naturopathy subset homeopathy absurdity.

003. there's "Dr. Eleonore Herschberger" [2018 archived] which states:

"Homeopathic Medicine at Home by Panos & Heimlich. This was one of the first books on homeopathy I ever bought.  It inspired me to pursue further studies in homeopathy, which led me to find out about Naturopathic Medicine – the only doctorate-level medical training in the country that included classical homeopathy in its core curriculum. That was a very important consideration when I was searching for a training program";

homeopathy, homeopathy, homeopathy.

004. there's "Homeopathy and Cancer: Past, Present & Future" [2018 archived] which states:

"Date: 2013 Abstract: Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for 7.6 million deaths (around 13% of all deaths) in 2008. Cancer accounts for more deaths than heart diseases for persons under 85 years old. One in four deaths is due to cancer in the USA. Cancer patients are increasingly seeking complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) regimens. Of the CAM modalities, homeopathy is one of the most popular choices for cancer patients in seven out of fourteen European countries, has traditionally been very popular in India and South America, and is increasingly sought after in the US. (2) The medical system of homeopathy was developed in the 18th century by German physician Samuel Hahnemann and is based on two principles, the Law of Similars, 'similia similibus curentur: let likes be cured by likes', and Individualization. In addition, homeopathic remedies are prepared in a very specific manner, with stepwise dilution and potentisation. (5) Using the writings of our predecessors, the current research, including clinical trials, cases, in vitro, and in vivo models, and a review of homeopathic cancer protocols developed by Grimmer, Barnett, the Banerjis, and Ramakrishnan, this paper will make the assertion that the use of homeopathic remedies is an effective stand-alone treatment for cancer. Description: This thesis is being archived as a Digitized Shelf Copy for campus access to current students and staff only. We currently cannot provide this open access without the author's permission. If you are the author of this work and desire to provide it open access or wish access removed, please contact the Wahlstrom Library to discuss permission. Citation: D.A. Fong, "Homeopathy and Cancer: Past, Present & Future", ND dissertation, College of Naturopathic Medicine, Univ. of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, CT, 2013";

and that's where it goes, basically.  The ND graduate claiming homeopathy ONLY as in stand-alone is effective for cancer.  That's NUTS.

 005. there's "Informed Consent for Treatment" [2018 archived] which states:

"I hereby authorize the Naturopathic physicians and other practitioners of the University of Bridgeport Naturopathic Medical Center (UBNMC) to perform the following specific procedure(s) as necessary to facilitate my diagnosis and treatment [...] homeopathic medicine: the use of highly dilute quantities of naturally occurring plants, animals and minerals to gently stimulate the body's healing responses";

oh the coded vitalism.  But, homeopathy scientifically is inert and does not in any way get a bodily "response."  If that were true, Nobels.  That revelation would be true informed consent.
