001. at cbc.ca, Bethany Lindsay writes in "Naturopaths Still Making 'Unacceptable' Number of Dubious Claims Face Minimum $500 Fines" (2019-01-17):
"B.C.'s naturopathic college is promising immediate action against practitioners who make false claims and spread anti-vaccination disinformation after finding an 'unacceptable' number of violations of its policies [...including] those violations include advertising services that naturopaths are not
certified to provide, false claims about the effects of treatment and
claims of specialization [...]";
now, larger than this area is this complete and utter falsehood that naturopathy positions: science subset naturopathy. This is so obviously wrong categorically that the little area mentioned above isn't THE problem, it is merely a symptom of a larger reversal of values. E.g. "science-based natural medicine" and "from the sciences of [...including] homeopathy" are ND SCHOOL-LEVEL absurdities.
"naturopaths who continue to break the rules are putting self-regulation of their profession at risk, according to the college [...]";
I've said for years, though, why would nonsense have a problem with itself? In other words, the college isn't self-regulating here, it is responding to OUTSIDE pressures, OUTSIDE comparisons, due to potential punishments from society at large, not merely interally policing.
