"those who chose alternatives such as herbs, homeopathy, naturopathy or Chinese medicine were also more likely to refuse at least some standard cancer treatment [...] when people opted out of proven treatments to choose herbs, homeopathy or other alternative treatments, they were twice as likely to die of their cancer [...]";

tell that to the naturopaths claiming now to be oncologists. What's interesting is that there isn't data supporting the reciprocal: that standard of care with naturopathy is better than just SOC.  Therein, naturopathy is a waste of money at best because attaining such data would be quite easy to fund. The naturopaths know something already, so they don't look to avoid the poor results of rigorous studies.
