here, an interesting nonsense place, Rhode Island naturopathy:
001. in "Rhode Island State House Monday, March 22, 2021" (2021), we're told:
"H5849 by Casey, Kennedy, Solomon, Kazarian, Williams ENTITLED, AN ACT RELATING TO INSURANCE – ACCIDENT AND SICKNESS INSURANCE POLICIES (Requires insurance coverage for health care services provided by a naturopathic doctor licensed in this state.) H5850 by Casey, Kennedy, Solomon, Kazarian, Williams ENTITLED, AN ACT RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS – LICENSE OF NATUROPATHY ACT (Changes the name of doctor of naturopathy to naturopathic doctor and permit them to administer IVs, perform phlebotomy, and consult, but not change, patient’s prescription medication)";
their caps. So, more insurance coverage and more invasive methods.
002. in "Licensure" (2021), the Rhode Island Association of Naturopathic Physicians tells us:
"Naturopathic Physicians Licensing. NPLEX is the standard examination used by all licensing jurisdictions for naturopathic doctors in North America. It includes 5 basic science exams (anatomy, physiology, pathology, biochemistry, microbiology and immunology) which are taken after the first two years of medical school. The clinical science examinations are taken following graduation after the fourth year of school. They include: clinical and physical diagnosis, laboratory diagnosis and diagnostic imaging, botanical medicine, pharmacology, nutrition, physical medicine, homeopathy, minor surgery, psychology and lifestyle counseling, and emergency medicine. Individual jurisdictions may give additional examinations in jurisprudence and acupuncture";
so, institutionalized pseudoscience. Homeopathy is as science in terms of the clinical as astrology is as science in terms of the astronomical.
003. at the State of Rhode Island we're told in "Rhode Island Department of Health Naturopathic Physician Licensure" (2021) states:
"licensure requirements [...] NPLEX Exam results, Part I and Part II from the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (NABNE) sent directly to this office [...]";
oh how they game the system. And how the system is so easily gamed.
004. at Justia, we're told in "2019 Rhode Island General Laws. Title 5 - Businesses and Professions. Chapter 5-36.1 License of Naturopathy Act of 2017. Section 5-36.1-3 Scope of Practice" (2021):
"a license authorizes a licensee, consistent with naturopathic education and training and competence demonstrated by passing the doctor of naturopathy licensing examination [that NPLEX!...including] homeopathic substances [...and their allowed to] provide health education";
so, an education that is miseducation and incompetent, e.g. science subset nonscience, has insinuated itself quite thoroughly. Same as it ever was...
